Habbo Avatar NFTs
Billions of pixels travelling through the metaverse.
A project lovingly put together by pixel artists, NFT enthusiasts and community-minded gamers from all over the planet.
Your chance to own an early, nostalgic, and iconic bit of the internet.
The Habbo Avatar project is all of these things, but for those of you that want a logical, straightforward answer: it’s a collection of 11,600 entirely unique, pixellated avatars.
These collectible avatars are non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, and they exist on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC-721 tokens.

All 11,600 avatars in the collection will be revealed at the same time, latest 5th of October.
Note: we’ve reserved an extra 1,000 avatars for the existing Habbo community. We will announce how we distribute these at a later date. Some will also be distributed internally within the company and some will be distributed in giveaways. See the Discord for more information.
MINT A HABBO PORTRAIT
For each Habbo Avatar you own, you can mint one randomised Habbo Portrait NFT to your MetaMask wallet. It’s important to note that you can only do this if the avatar in question hasn’t already been used to mint a portrait. The tool underneath the ‘Connect your MetaMask wallet’ button below should be used if you’re buying a Habbo Avatar and you want to know if it’s already been used to mint a Habbo Portrait.
We intend to allow avatar owners to mint portraits until the end of November 2021. However, this deadline may be extended indefinitely.
Important: a Habbo Portrait is not a portrait of your Habbo Avatar. It’s a completely new, separate, randomly generated NFT in profile picture format.Connect your MetaMask wallet
Check if an Habbo Avatar from the official collection has already been used to mint a randomised Habbo Portrait NFT by entering the avatar’s collection number below and clicking ‘Check’.
We love online communities. We love gaming and we love Habbo. Plus, the NFT space is a seriously exciting place to be right now.
As well as our own Twitter account – @HabboNFT – we’re also over on Discord. Join our server to get updates and information about the project. We’d love to see you.
Habbo Avatar traits
Each of the 11,600 avatars in the Habbo Avatar collection are programmatically generated from 284 different traits and therefore are 100% unique. Some traits are less likely than others to appear on an avatar, which makes some of them ‘rarer’ than others. (That makes collecting them a bit more fun, we think.) A trait is basically the shoes an avatar is wearing, their skin colour, the hat they’re wearing, their facial features, etc.
Every single avatar we mint is guaranteed to have at least one trait that is completely new to Habbo (there are 74 of these new traits). Below you can see some examples and their rarities. We’ll publish more detailed information about traits in our Discord server.
One of the coolest things about Habbo Avatars is that eventually, we plan to make each one of them usable in-game. When this happens, not only do we plan for them to have an exclusive effect – and a lot of the time, weird and wonderful exclusive items – we also plan to enable active Habbo Club and Builders Club memberships for their owners as a kind of perk.
We put together a very rough roadmap to show what we want to do and when. This is very likely to change, so to get the freshest information make sure to join our Discord server.
We’re lucky enough to have a ready-made game and an awesome community to boot (actually, we’ve got two games and two awesome communities – Sulake also owns the wonderful Hotel Hideaway). NFTs are a cool bit of tech and making them a part of our games is a seriously exciting prospect.
While we don’t want to talk about our plans in any concrete or confirmatory terms, we do see ourselves moving towards a broader adoption of blockchain technology and NFTs, and the gradual adoption of a play to earn experience in Habbo.
We see play to earn as the future of gaming and we have tons of ideas how we can incorporate this in both Habbo and Hotel Hideaway. Building something like this over the games’ existing technology will be both difficult and time consuming, so it doesn’t make sense for us to commit to anything specific at this stage. We’ll keep both games’ communities and the NFT community updated about any developments.
The Habbo Avatar project is something we planned and executed ourselves, in-house. Members of the Habbo art and developer teams have been involved, as well as staff from Sulake’s community team. We didn’t outsource much of it, and it’s something we see as a long term thing that will grow and eventually contribute to other areas of Habbo, and indeed Hotel Hideaway.
A special mention should go to the project’s mastermind: Muumiopappa. Muumiopappa is a gaming and NFT fanatic based out of Helsinki, Finland. He’s the lead game designer for Habbo’s sister game, Hotel Hideaway, and his background is in data and computer science. He’s also an avid NFT collector, having got his two Bored Apes as they were minted. He also owns a fair amount of other NFTs in various blockchains; including Tezos and Flow. Finally, he is also a huge believer in play to earn mechanics and NFTs in general.
Habbo Avatars has been a really, really fun thing to work on. We’re super excited to see what happens next and where we go next.
